Job summary

The Automobile Association (AA) in Manchester is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic to deliver first-class service and repair work at customers' homes or workplaces. You will attend a mix of booked appointments and breakdowns, performing inspections, diagnostics, servicing, brake replacement and on-the-spot repairs with full training and ongoing support.

With a 40-hour week on a 5-day rota (Mon–Sat) and shifts from 8am to 8pm, there is optional overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in a workshop or mobile mechanic environment.
• Full UK Category B driving licence (minimum 6 points).
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Communicate diagnostics and repairs clearly to customers.
• Work independently across multiple locations and environments.
• Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues at appointments and roadside.
• Represent the AA as a trusted expert and reassuring presence.
• Take ownership of your local area, building relationships and opportunities.
