Job summary

Pareto Facilities Management Ltd is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias to join our established FM engineering team. You will perform PPM and reactive maintenance across client sites including Heathrow, Reading, and the surrounding M25 corridor.

The role offers variety and independence, with support from a wider engineering team. Key tasks include fault finding, maintaining HVAC and mechanical plant, completing service reports, and keeping safety and compliance high.

Qualifications

• Essential: City & Guilds Level 3 Mechanical qualification.
• Experience in facilities management, building services or commercial maintenance.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance, plus safe working practices.

Responsibilities

Mobile Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical Bias

Heathrow, Reading & M25 Corridor | Mobile Engineering | PPM & Reactive Maintenance

We're looking for a qualified Mobile Maintenance Engineer with a Mechanical bias to join our established Facilities Management engineering team.

Working across a portfolio of client sites covering Heathrow, Reading and the surrounding M25 corridor, you'll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, mechanical fault finding and repairs, helping to keep our clients’ buildings and plant safe, compliant and operating effectively.

You'll have the independence and variety that comes with a mobile role, while being part of an established engineering team with plenty of technical and operational support around you.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across client sites
• Mechanical fault finding, repairs and general building-services maintenance
• Maintaining and supporting HVAC and associated mechanical plant
• Working with pumps, pressurisation systems and ventilation systems
• Responding to BMS alarms and carrying out first-line fault diagnosis
• Carrying out minor repairs, maintenance and installation works
• Completing maintenance records, service reports and compliance documentation
• Using simPRO to update jobs and record completed maintenance activities
• Ensuring plant rooms and engineering areas are maintained safely and to a high standard
• Identifying and reporting hazards, defects and outstanding statutory maintenance
• Liaising with specialist subcontractors
• Communicating effectively with clients, end users and the wider engineering team
• Supporting the wider team with general building-services maintenance where appropriate

What We're Looking For

You'll need previous experience working within Facilities Management, building services or commercial maintenance, together with strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.

Essential:

• City & Guilds Level 3 Mechanical qualification
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience
• Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
• Good understanding of safe working practices
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Ability to work independently across multiple client sites
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload

Experience with HVAC, BMS and controls, pumps, pressurisation systems, ventilation, L8/water hygiene, generators or wider building services would be advantageous. IPAF and PASMA would also be beneficial.

Your team

You'll join an established team of seven Mobile Engineers, working alongside a wider team of Static Engineers.

You'll also have support from four Supervisors and four Contract Managers, so although you'll work independently across your portfolio, you won't be operating in isolation.

Regular monthly meetings are held between engineers and management, alongside a dedicated team WhatsApp group for day-to-day communication, technical advice and support.

Callout

The role participates in an out-of-hours 1-in-7 callout rota.

You'll receive a £200 standby payment for the on-call week, plus additional callout payments where applicable. Additional overtime may also be available depending on client and business requirements.
