Randstad CPE UK Property Services Team is seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to join our Reactive Maintenance Division in Barnsley area. • Job Title: Maintenance Electrician
• Salary: upto 38,000 per annum + Benefits
• Location: Mobile role covering Barnsley area (Van and fuel card provided)
• Contract Type: Domestic, Permanent
• Working Hours: Full-time, time 1/8 on-call rotation

About the Role:

As a Domestic Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of electrical remedial maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs within occupied and void social housing properties across the Barnsley area. This is a mobile position, and a company van with a fuel card will be provided to facilitate your work. You will be an integral part of a responsive team, ensuring high standards of workmanship and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake electrical remedial maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs in domestic social housing properties and flats.
• Conduct electrical inspections, testing, and certification (EICRs, Minor Works Certificates) in accordance with current regulations.
• Carry out minor electrical installations and upgrades as required.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.
• Adhere strictly to all relevant health and safety regulations, including the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and management, providing clear updates on work progress.
• Complete accurate paperwork, including timesheets, worksheets, and material usage, often via a handheld device (PDA).
• Participate in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours emergency support.
• Collaborate with other trades operatives when necessary to ensure comprehensive repairs.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area, ensuring minimal disruption to residents.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent recognized qualification).
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) qualification.
• City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent 2394/2395) in Inspection and Testing.
• Proven experience in electrical remedial maintenance within social housing properties and flats.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Demonstrable experience in electrical fault-finding and diagnostics.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
• A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
