Job summary

Gwynedd Council is seeking a kitchen operative to support school kitchens and catering services. You will be involved in menu planning, food production, service, and staff supervision, with responsibilities for health and safety and training of kitchen staff.

The role requires basic food hygiene knowledge, a level 2 qualification and a full driving licence. Welsh language skills are encouraged in line with the council’s bilingual policy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, supervise and organise food production and service in a kitchen.
• Assist with functions and provide kitchen staff training.
• Ensure health and safety and food safety practices are followed.
• Order supplies, manage stock, and maintain kitchen records.
• Supervise and support kitchen staff and ensure induction training.
