Job summary

Bimplus in the North East is recruiting a Mobile Generator Engineer to maintain and service standby power equipment across the region. You will perform planned maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis and repairs, travelling to customer sites with a professional, hands-on approach.

The role offers £40,000–£45,000 package, regular overtime, a call-out rota, 25 days’ holiday and a structured career path with ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experience working on diesel-powered equipment or standby power systems.
• Recognised mechanical or electrical engineering qualification.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

About the Role:

As a Mobile Generator Engineer, you'll travel across the North East carrying out planned maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis and repairs on standby power equipment. You'll work independently, ensuring customers receive a professional and reliable service while maintaining high engineering standards. No two days are the same, with a varied workload that includes preventative maintenance, reactive breakdowns and supporting wider engineering projects when required.

About You:

The ideal Mobile Generator Engineer will have previous experience working on diesel-powered equipment or standby power systems, together with a recognised Mechanical or Electrical engineering qualification. You'll enjoy working in a customer-facing environment, be confident solving technical problems and be happy travelling throughout the North East. A full UK driving licence is essential.
