We are seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to work with a range of Mitie clients, carrying out maintenance and repair tasks, including fabric and basic electrical work in buildings as required under contract. The role involves ensuring all PPM and Reactive tasks meet legislative standards and that all necessary paperwork is completed and submitted on time.
You will carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance, complete appropriate reports, and ensure all statutory and mandatory tasks are completed within deadlines. You will also ensure all certifications are correctly filled out, remedial works are identified clearly, and reactive/emergency tasks are performed using handheld technology effectively.
The candidate must be available for a call-out rota to provide out-of-hours support, assist team members, and proactively seek additional opportunities or works on-site, providing required information for quotes. Monitoring subcontractors' work quality and health & safety compliance, issuing permits, controlling small works, and escort duties as needed are also part of the role.
The ideal candidate will be qualified to City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent in relevant disciplines and have experience with maintenance, testing, and fault finding on equipment such as boilers, ventilation systems, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, batteries, small power, and lighting. Knowledge of health & safety practices is essential.
