Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd is hiring a Field Service Engineer to service, maintain and repair equipment across Norwich and surrounding areas. You will work on-site at customer locations, carrying out scheduled servicing, troubleshooting hydraulics and electrics, and performing LOLER inspections.

The role suits engineers with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical skills, with full UK driving licence. A fully field-based position with a company van, pension and progressive training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience as forklift engineer / plant fitter / Agricultural technician / marine engineer or similar.
• Previous experience in a Field Service, Mobile Engineer or Engineering role.
• Practical experience working with hydraulics and electrics is essential.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Complete LOLER inspections and maintenance requirements.
• Attend customer sites to carry out reactive repairs.
• Manage your own field-based territory and work independently.
• Complete service reports and documentation.
• Work with customers to ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard.
• Parts delivered directly to you or the customer site as required.

Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Basic Salary: £35,000 – £40,000

OTE: £42,000–£56,500

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:00am – 4:30pm

Location: Norwich and surrounding areas

Field Service Engineer required to join a growing team, covering a field-based territory and attending customer sites to carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical experience, with training available for candidates from a range of transferable backgrounds.

You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment at customer sites, carrying out preventative maintenance and responding to reactive breakdowns.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Completing LOLER inspections and associated maintenance requirements
• Attending customer sites to carry out reactive repairs
• Managing your own field-based territory and working independently
• Completing all relevant service reports and documentation
• Working closely with customers to ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard
• Parts will be delivered directly to you or the customer site as required

Experience you will need:

• Practical experience working with both hydraulics and electrics is essential
• A full UK driving licence

Your Package:

• Basic Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
• OTE: £42,000–£56,500 (including regular overtime and door to door pay)
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours, 8:00am – 4:30pm
• Overtime: Paid at 1.5x hourly rate, with approximately 5–10 hours available per week
