Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and repair equipment at customer sites across Manchester and surrounding areas. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and manage your own field territory. Training is available for transferable backgrounds.

The role offers a basic salary of £35,000–£40,000 per year with OTE £42,000–£56,500, 40 hours a week, van, fuel card, pension, and generous leave.

Qualifications

• Experience in field service or mobile engineering.
• Practical experience with hydraulics and electrics.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Completing LOLER inspections and associated maintenance requirements.
• Attending customer sites to carry out reactive repairs.
• Managing your own field-based territory and working independently.
• Completing all relevant service reports and documentation.
• Working closely with customers to ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard.
• Parts will be delivered directly to you or the customer site as required.

Job Title: Field Service Engineer Basic Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 OTE: £42,000–£56,500 Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:00am – 4:30pm Location: Manchester and surrounding areas

Field Service Engineer required to join a growing team, covering a field-based territory and attending customer sites to carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical experience, with training available for candidates from a range of transferable backgrounds.

You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment at customer sites, carrying out preventative maintenance and responding to reactive breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Completing LOLER inspections and associated maintenance requirements
• Attending customer sites to carry out reactive repairs
• Managing your own field-based territory and working independently
• Completing all relevant service reports and documentation
• Working closely with customers to ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard
• Parts will be delivered directly to you or the customer site as required

Experience you will need

• Experience as a forklift engineer / plant fitter / Agricultural technician / marine engineer or similar
• Previous experience in a Field Service, Mobile Engineer or Engineering role
• Practical experience working with both hydraulics and electrics is essential
• A full UK driving licence

Package

• Basic Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
• OTE: £42,000–£56,500 (including regular overtime and door to door pay)
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours, 8:00am – 4:30pm
• Overtime: Paid at 1.5x hourly rate, with approximately 5–10 hours available per week
