Job summary

SMT GB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and repair Volvo construction equipment across Reading and surrounding areas. The role is field-based, offering the chance to work independently on customer sites while delivering excellent service.

You will need an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance or a related discipline, with strong diagnostic skills and experience with heavy machinery, diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrics.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance or related engineering discipline.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, diagnose, and repair Volvo construction equipment across Reading and surrounding areas.
• Communicate with customers, provide updates on status and recommendations.
• Complete all job documentation and ensure safety and compliance.
