Role Purpose
A vacancy has arisen for a practical, self-motivated individual to work as a Mobile Fabric Engineer. The role involves carrying out reactive and PPM works across London in commercial premises, liaising and coordinating with approved contractors. A good understanding of Building Fabric Services, professional presentation, and the ability to provide technical advice are essential.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform reactive maintenance repairs across various contracts.
- Assess and order parts and equipment necessary for tasks.
- Work to recognised industry standards.
- Participate in flexible working hours and out-of-hours emergency cover.
- Undertake training, including health and safety courses and trade development, to maintain qualifications.
- Assist other trades as required.
- Update and close completed tasks on CAFM system.
- Maintain engineering standards for optimal operation and reliability.
- Adhere to QA and site procedures, including health and safety policies.
- Inspect services, proactively handle call outs/repairs, and attend emergencies.
- Maintain company tools in safe condition.
- Carry out basic fabric repairs (decorating, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
- Perform PPM tasks such as fire alarm testing, filter replacements, and equipment inspections.
- Provide detailed reports and update on-site log books.
- Complete certificates and documentation for works.
- Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments as needed.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised trade qualification or apprenticeship.
- Extensive knowledge of building fabric services and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Smart, presentable appearance.
- Availability for call outs.
- Good communication skills, proficient with smartphones and PDAs.
- Team player with self-motivation and flexibility.
- Willing to work evenings and weekends as required.
