Job summary

Cambridge Maintenance Services is recruiting a Mobile Electrician to work from Cardiff, performing specialised electrical installation works, reports, and inspections within commercial properties. You will test and certify installations, diagnose faults, and ensure compliance with current regulations.

Role requires full electrical apprenticeship, AM2, BS7671, and 18th edition knowledge; JIB/IFAP/PASMA credentials are advantageous. Company van and benefits provided.

Qualifications

Knowledge of electrical installation works in commercial & domestic properties.
Knowledge of electrical testing and certification requirements in commercial properties.
Ability to fault-find electrical equipment in commercial properties.
Experience with emergency lighting testing and certification.
Familiarity with DALI lighting control systems and BMS wiring.

Responsibilities

Carry out specialised electrical installation works and electrical installation condition reports.
Attend sites to ensure maintenance, servicing and repairs meet regulations.
Test and certify electrical installations and minor works under NIC/EIC scheme and IET BS7671.
Communicate with clients, suppliers and colleagues to maintain professional relationships.
Organise works efficiently and work well within a team.
Submit clear task sheets and reports with photos and recommendations.

Job Description

To work within Cambridge Maintenance Electrical services department carrying out specialised electrical installation works along with carrying out electrical installation condition reports and periodic emergency lighting inspections, fault diagnosis and rectification on various electrical systems within commercial Installations.

Key Responsibilities

To work within Cambridge Maintenance Electrical services department carrying out specialised electrical installation works along with carrying out electrical installation condition reports and periodic emergency lighting inspections, fault diagnosis and rectification on various electrical systems within commercial Installations.
To attend Cambridge Maintenance sites to ensure that the maintenance, servicing and repair works are carried out in accordance with Cambridge Maintenance and current relevant legislation.
To test and certify electrical installations and minor works in accordance with the NIC/EIC approved contractor scheme and IET BS7671 Wiring Regulation.
To communicate regularly and effectively with clients, suppliers and other Cambridge Maintenance personnel in order to maintain and develop excellent professional working relationships and ensure smooth operation of the business.
To organise works allocated time efficiently and work supportively within a team.
To complete site logs and site diaries on a daily basis.
To submit clear, concise and accurate task sheets and reports (with photographs) daily in support of works carried out, with clear recommendations for any further work required.

Hours of Work

Monday-Friday - 42.5 hours per week with overtime starting after 47.5 hours.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of Electrical Installation works within commercial & domestic properties.
Knowledge of Electrical Testing and certification requirements within commercial properties.
Ability to fault find Electrical equipment faults within commercial properties.
Fault diagnosis and rectification on Commercial Fire Alarm system.
Experienced in Emergency light annual testing.
Experience with DALI lighting control systems.
Experience with BMS control wiring and fault finding.

Essential Qualifications

Full Electrical Apprenticeship/levels 2 & 3 or equivalent
AM2

City & Guilds 2391 or 2394 &2395 Certificate in Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations or equivalent.
