Job summary

Cambridge Maintenance Services is seeking a Mobile Electrical Engineer to work from Manchester with flexibility to cover Yorkshire/Leeds sites. You will join the Electrical services team, performing electrical installations, testing, fault finding and emergency lighting inspections across commercial properties.

The role requires knowledge of NICEIC/IEC schemes, 18th Edition, and a full electrical apprenticeship.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electrical installation works in commercial & domestic properties.
  • Knowledge of electrical testing and certification requirements in commercial properties.
  • Ability to fault-find electrical equipment faults in commercial properties.
  • Fault diagnosis and rectification on commercial fire alarm systems.
  • Experienced in emergency light annual testing.
  • Experience with DALI lighting control systems.
  • Experience with BMS control wiring and fault finding.
  • City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 inspection, testing & certification or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Full Electrical Apprenticeship completed.

Responsibilities

  • Attend Cambridge Maintenance sites to ensure maintenance, servicing, and repair works comply with Cambridge Maintenance and current legislation.
  • Test and certify electrical installations and minor works per NIC/EIC and IET BS7671.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, suppliers and Cambridge Maintenance personnel to maintain professional relationships.
  • Organise works and manage time efficiently within a team.
  • Complete site logs and diaries daily.
  • Submit clear task sheets and reports with photos and recommendations.

Mobile Electrical Engineer
Job Description

To work within Cambridge Maintenance Electrical services department carrying out specialised electrical installation works along with carrying out electrical installation condition reports and periodic emergency lighting inspections, fault diagnosis and rectification on various electrical systems within commercial Installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • To attend Cambridge Maintenance sites to ensure that the maintenance, servicing and repair works are carried out in accordance with Cambridge Maintenance and current relevant legislation.
  • To test and certify electrical installations and minor works in accordance with the NIC/EIC approved contractor scheme and IET BS7671 Wiring Regulation.
  • To communicate regularly and effectively with clients, suppliers and other Cambridge Maintenance personnel in order to maintain and develop excellent professional working relationships and ensure smooth operation of the business.
  • To organise works allocated time efficiently and work supportively within a team.
  • To complete site logs and site diaries on a daily basis.
  • To submit clear, concise and accurate task sheets and reports (with photographs) daily in support of works carried out, with clear recommendations for any further work required.
Location

Manchester (With flexibility to cover Yorkshire/Leeds sites)

Hours of Work

Monday-Friday - 42.5 hours per week with overtime starting after 47.5 hours.

Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Electrical Installation works within commercial & domestic properties.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Testing and certification requirements within commercial properties.
  • Ability to fault find Electrical equipment faults within commercial properties.
  • Fault diagnosis and rectification on Commercial Fire Alarm system.
  • Experienced in Emergency light annual testing.
  • Experience with DALI lighting control systems.
  • Experience with BMS control wiring and fault finding.
