Job summary

Selwood Ltd is seeking a Mobile Electrician to join our team in the Birmingham area. You will install, maintain, service and repair electrical and mechanical pump equipment across branches and customer sites, ensuring safety and compliance with IE regulations.

40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with an on-call rota (1 in 6). A valid UK driving licence is required and an ECS Gold Card or Electrical Installations qualifications are essential; JIB qualification and 18th edition preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires ECS Gold Card or relevant Electrical Installations qualifications.
• JIB Qualified Electrician preferred; 18th edition preferred.
• Experience with electrical installations in pump/hire fleet environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation work in accordance with IE E Regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain, install, service and repair electrical/mechanical pump sets across branches and customer sites.
• Produce reports and estimates for repairs and advise on safety issues.
• Keep work areas and vehicles clean and orderly; adhere to Risk Assessments/Method Statements.
• Communicate with managers, internal and external stakeholders on timelines and service levels.
• Work independently to manage own workloads and call outs; participate in call out rota (1 in 6).
• Full UK driving licence; ECS Gold card eligibility and 18th edition preferred.

Job description

We are growing our electrical division to meet the ever-increasing needs of our expanding business., To help us achieve this we are looking for a Mobile Electrician to work within our team in the Birmingham area. Within this role you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment between branches and customer sites across the south region in a safe, professional and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have practical electrical engineering skills and experience. Working hours are Monday to Friday 40 hours per week as well as being part of an on-call rota, but this can be variable dependant on the needs of the business. It is essential that applicants hold an ECS Gold Card or have the relevant qualifications or experience in Electrical Installations to obtain an ECS Gold card.

• You will carry out electrical installation work efficiently in accordance with the current I.E.E.Regulations for Electrical Installations and the Construction Industry Safety Regulations.
• Be able to maintain, install, service and repair electrical/mechanical pump sets within the hire fleet and any customer units as required to the required legislative standards.
• You will be required to produce reports and estimates to repair set units and advise on safety issues as necessary.
• Keep a good standard of housekeeping ensuring work areas and vehicles are kept in good order and clean.
• Ensure all necessary Risk Assessment/Method Statements are adhered to.
• To communicate regularly and effectively with your manager and all internal and external customers and stakeholders regarding business and customer expectations on timelines, quality and overall service levels
• Be self-driven, with the ability to work independently to manage own workloads and call outs.
• Ability to attend call outs for the branch as part of a call out rota which is 1 in 6 weeks. Essential to be a JIB Qualified Electrician and to be able to meet the requirements to obtain an ECS Gold card, Preferred - 18th edition.

Full UK Driving Licence (as company van is provided)
