Job description

Equans is seeking a Mobile Electrician to join our HMCTS contract, based in Portsmouth and working across surrounding sites. This full-time role offers a salary of up to £40,000 per annum plus an excellent benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform routine Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on electrical infrastructure and plant according to site schedules and CAFM systems.
  2. Address and resolve reactive maintenance tasks, proactively identifying areas for improvement.
  3. Remedy plant faults and defects promptly to maintain operational equipment.
  4. Maintain stock of spares supporting maintenance and reactive works.
  5. Provide parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial work.
  6. Complete documentation and submit it to the contract administrator on time.
  7. Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safety.
  8. Build strong working relationships with staff, subcontractors, and clients.
  9. Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to PPE and uniform policies.
  10. Keep plant logs and supervise subcontractor activities on-site.
  11. Ensure compliance with KPIs and SLAs.
  12. Update and utilise the CAFM system accurately for PPM and reactive tickets.
  13. Operate the Permit to Work System following Equans' SHEQ processes.
  14. Provide engineering support during emergencies to maintain operations.
  15. Obtain necessary Technical Appointments for permit issuance.
  16. Ensure maintenance, testing, and inspections meet BS standards.

Candidate Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Ability to fault-find and diagnose electrical faults independently.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems for planning shutdowns and safety documentation.
  • Experience in maintenance engineering roles.
  • Ability to pass security vetting (BPSS/CTC).
  • IPAF Certification and PLASMA Qualification.
