Job description

Are you a highly skilled and experienced Electrician looking for a dynamic role with leadership responsibilities? We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Mobile Maintenance Electrician to oversee electrical maintenance across a portfolio of schools within Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional to take charge and guide a small team.

The Role:

As our Mobile Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for:

• Leading and mentoring a team of 4 maintenance electricians, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of work.
• Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of electrical systems and equipment within school environments.
• Diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults efficiently and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to school operations.
• Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Managing your own workload and that of your team, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines and service level agreements.
• Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities.
• Working closely with school staff and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide excellent customer service.
• 1 in 4 on call rota (£100 standby)

About You:

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, City & Guilds 2360/2330/2357).
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification is essential.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance, ideally within commercial or public sector buildings. Experience in schools would be a significant advantage.
• Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to motivate and manage a small team.
• An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role due to working within a school environment.
