Job description

Vacancy: Mobile Engineer (Electrically biased) – Southeast

This is a full-time, flexible working, permanent vacancy that will close in 20 days at 23:59 BST.

The Role

At Wates, we offer a fantastic opportunity for a Mobile Engineer to join our Facilities Management mobile team, supporting clients in the Southeast region.

The main responsibilities include carrying out Planned Preventative Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance (PPM), compliance tasks, reactive maintenance, and handling extra works or emergencies as per contract requirements on electrical and mechanical services.

You will also participate in our call-out rota for the region.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Previous FM experience managing multiple sites
  • Electrical qualification such as NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent
  • Hold 18th edition wiring regulations
  • Good knowledge of plant rooms and day-to-day building maintenance, including compliance tasks
  • Excellent record-keeping skills and computer literacy
Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure all work complies with legislation and contractual obligations
  • Utilise CAFM/PDA technology for real-time job updates and detailed reporting
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues and help desk requests related to mechanical systems
  • Cover call-outs, breakdowns, and emergencies related to electrical and mechanical services as required
