Job summary

ISS is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a mobile team delivering maintenance services under a major government contract. The role covers multiple sites across York and nearby properties, with a focus on safe, compliant operations and ongoing training opportunities.

Key duties include PPM and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and collaboration with building services teams. A full UK driving license and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance within Facilities Management or Building Services environments.
• Strong electrical fault-finding, repair and maintenance experience.
• Experience working within commercial properties.
• Ability to complete basic building fabric repairs alongside electrical duties.
• Computer literacy and confidence using handheld devices or PDAs.
• Willingness to travel across the region and undertake occasional overnight stays.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Diagnose faults and complete reactive electrical repairs within agreed service levels.
• Support wider building services maintenance, including fabric, HVAC and mechanical tasks where required.
• Respond to callouts as part of the on-call rota.
• Undertake contractor management activities and issue Permits to Work.
• Ensure all electrical equipment operates to required performance standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all administrative requirements on time.
• Comply with all health, safety and environmental procedures, including risk assessments and COSHH requirements.
