Job description

As a Mobile Dispensing Optician, you will work across different stores within a defined geographical area to support our stores with cover when staff are out of the business.

About the role

Our Mobile Dispensing Opticians play a key role in providing crucial clinical support in stores for regulated dispensing. You will work closely with a Mobile Optometrist to ensure a seamless patient journey from chair to dispense. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Model, lead, and deliver exceptional care, supporting patients and customers in making appropriate choices regarding optical and healthcare products and services.
  2. Work flexibly across the opticians area according to business needs, continuously developing your knowledge to serve patients and customers effectively.
  3. Provide expert knowledge for patients with more specialized requirements.
  4. Deliver comprehensive healthcare solutions and mentor other team members, including Student Dispensing Opticians.
  5. Collaborate with Boots Healthcare teams to offer integrated health solutions.
  6. Supervise and support the education and training of colleagues and students.
  7. Comply with practice standards, Boots Opticians policies, and operational procedures.
  8. Support operational efficiency to ensure legal and safe trading.
  9. Participate in store leadership meetings to maintain high clinical standards and patient safety.
  10. Embrace and promote digital tools to enhance customer conversations.
Requirements
  • Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
  • Optical experience and expertise.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders including store and area leaders, peers, customers, and external professionals.
  • High clinical standards.
  • Leadership qualities aligned with our Healthcare Ambition.
  • Motivated for continuous learning and CET compliance.
  • Willing and able to travel within the region.
