Job summary

Amey is recruiting a Mobile Electrician (Commercial) based from HMP Stafford, covering a regional patch in the Northwest Midlands. Permanent full-time role (39 hours/week) with a 15% weekend shift allowance and company van plus fuel card.

Salary ranges from £37,953 to £43,039 depending on experience. You’ll perform planned and reactive maintenance across sites, manage permits, review certificates, and provide technical guidance to site teams while pursuing clear career progression within Amey.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
18th Edition (or working towards)
City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) Inspection & Testing
AM2 and/or ECS Gold Card
Experience in commercial or industrial environments
Full UK driving licence
Ability to work independently and manage workload
Experience with fire alarms, CCTV, or regulated environments is a bonus

Responsibilities

Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across multiple sites
Taking responsibility for electrical systems as an Authorised and Responsible Person
Managing permits, isolations and ensuring safe systems of work
Reviewing electrical certificates and ensuring compliance
Supporting site teams with technical advice and guidance
Assisting with minor works, upgrades and inspections
