Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment is seeking a reliable Driver/Cleaning Operative to join a mobile team, providing a professional cleaning service across multiple sites. You will travel between designated locations using a Council vehicle and perform general and periodic cleaning duties.

The successful candidate will hold a full, clean driving licence, have cleaning experience (ideally multi-site), and knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.

Qualifications

• The candidate must hold a full, clean driving licence.
• Experience in cleaning, ideally across multiple sites or facilities.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
• Willing to undertake relevant training.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Council vehicle safely between different sites.
• Carry out general cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting and damp wiping.
• Clean washrooms and sanitary areas to a high standard.
• Empty bins and remove waste appropriately.
• Undertake periodic and high-level cleaning when required.
• Use cleaning equipment, machinery and materials safely and correctly.
• Follow COSHH and manufacturers’ instructions when using cleaning chemicals.
• Check cleaning equipment before and after use and return it clean and safely to storage.
• Complete required site attendance and sign-off procedures.
• Follow all site-specific fire, evacuation, induction and Health & Safety procedures.
• Report building defects, maintenance issues and Health & Safety concerns to management.
• Carry out basic safety checks on the Council vehicle at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Attend toolbox talks and relevant training sessions.
• Maintain a professional appearance and wear the required uniform and PPE.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by management.

About the Role

The role involves travelling between designated locations using a Council vehicle and carrying out a range of general and periodic cleaning duties. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and ensuring facilities are safe, clean and ready for use.

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a full, clean driving licence.
• Have experience in cleaning, ideally within a commercial, facilities or multi-site environment.
• Have good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
• Ideally have experience of periodic/deep cleaning.
• Have an understanding of COSHH and the safe use of cleaning chemicals.
• Be reliable, flexible and able to work across different locations.
• Be comfortable working independently and using their own initiative.
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.
• Be willing to undertake relevant training.
