Job summary

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is recruiting a part-time cleaner to join the Property Operations team at Stoke Town Hall and other city sites. The role covers cleaning of libraries, offices, museums and communal areas to a high standard.

Shifts are 15 hours per week with working hours between 5pm and 8pm, and occasional early starts. Training will be provided, and internal candidates have priority where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Experience in cleaning public spaces.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised.
  • Willingness to work part-time and take shifts 17:00–20:00.

Responsibilities

  • Clean libraries, offices, museums, sheltered housing and communal areas to the required standard.
  • Responsible for washrooms, kitchens, reception areas, meeting rooms, stairwells and lifts.
  • May unlock/lock buildings and cover hours 06:00–20:00 as needed.

This advert is open to both Internal and External applicants.

The role involves cleaning Libraries, Offices, Museums, Sheltered Housing Schemes and Communal areas within flats across the City. You will be responsible for the cleaning of washrooms, kitchens, reception areas, office areas, meeting rooms, stairwells and lifts within the building to a given standard.

You may be asked to unlock or lock these buildings as part of this role and would need to be available to work between the hours of 06:00 to 20:00.

Your location of work would be provided on a weekly basis and could be subject to change to provide cover where needed.

Appropriate training would be given to the successful candidate.
