Job summary

Royal Mail Group, operating through Royal Mail P&FS, is seeking a Mobile Cleaning Operative to cover sites in the Leicester area. You will travel between sites, perform cleaning tasks, and maintain the high standards customers expect.

A full UK driving licence with up to six penalty points is required, and a company van is provided for travel between sites. This is a physical, independent role with training available.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Physical role with manual handling – training provided.
• Previous cleaning experience is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean across multiple sites: mop, vacuum, dust surfaces.
• Clean toilets, floors and offices; empty bins; sanitise surfaces.
• Litter picking in yard and car park areas; maintain high standards.

Location: Covering the Leicester area.

Pay: £13.10 per hour
Contract Type: Fixed Term 4 months
Hours: 37.5 hours a week.
Schedule: Monday to Saturday 6am to 12.25pm

About the Role

As a Mobile Cleaning Operative , you’ll travel between multiple sites in the Leicester postcode area , covering for absences and holidays. Your responsibilities will include a range of cleaning tasks, including:

• Mopping, vacuuming, and dusting
• Cleaning toilets, floors and offices
• Emptying bins and sanitising surfaces
• Litter picking within yard and car park areas

You’ll be working independently or as part of a team, helping us maintain the high standards our customers expect.

This is a physical role that involves manual handling, but don’t worry – we’ll provide all the training and support you need to succeed.

Driving Licence Required

Due to the mobile nature of this role, you’ll need a full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points . A work van will be provided for travel between sites.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, reliable, and self-motivated
• Able to manage their own time and work independently
• Comfortable using cleaning equipment (training provided)
• A good communicator who follows Health & Safety guidelines

Previous cleaning experience is helpful, but not essential.
