Job summary

South West Norse is seeking a Mobile Catering Assistant to support on-site kitchen teams across Plymouth/Ivybridge and surrounding areas. The role is part-time, 20 hours per week during school term-times, with working hours Monday to Friday 9:30am–2:30pm and a mobile, customer-facing environment.

£12.71 per hour, equivalent to ~£26,438.07 per annum based on a 40-hour week, is offered with benefits including pension and travel incentives.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience or willingness to train.
• Friendly, polite customer service.
• Able to work to deadlines in a busy environment.
• Able to work within a team.
• Own vehicle and Full UK Driving Licence with business use insurance is required.

South West Norse is established in delivering catering, cleaning, and facilities management services to a portfolio of clients in the local region in partnership with Devon County Council, combining local knowledge with service delivery expertise.

As we recognise the importance of building a strong kitchen team to be a key ingredient to our catering success, we currently have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Mobile Catering Assistant join our well-equipped teams across Plymouth/Ivybridge and the surrounding areas. This role is being offered on a permanent, part-time, basis working during school Term-Times only!

The role:

You will be joining multiple on-site kitchen teams, supporting all aspects of the catering service including ensuring completion of the preparation, cooking, presentation and service of our nutritious food and beverage outlets to students and staff while complying with food hygiene, health and safety and QA procedures.

This customer facing role will provide you with great exposure to all aspects of the catering environment with lots of opportunities to learn and develop your skills within the industry.

As this is a mobile position, you will need your own personal vehicle and hold a Full UK Driving Licence and business use insurance is required.
