Job summary

McCarthy Stone is recruiting Mobile Care Assistants to deliver personal care and domestic services across developments in Wokingham, Caversham and Twyford. You will travel between sites, provide companionship, help with daily activities and assist with household tasks while maintaining communal areas to a high standard.

Role includes training, potential progression to senior care, and rewards such as a £300 probation bonus, travel mileage reimbursed and life insurance.

Job description

About the Role: This is a dual role consisting of Personal Care and Domestic Services. You'll work closely with the Field Care Supervisor, House Managers and Registered Care Manager to deliver personal bespoke care and lifestyle services. This could be from assisting with personal care, household tasks to offering companionship and supporting wellbeing activities. There is the expectation to ensure communal areas are cleaned regularly too. This is a mobile field-based role to grow our care service so there is a requirement to travel between our developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Individual Homeowners: To provide personalised care, including help with daily activities, personal hygiene, and medication assistance.
• Domestic: Maintain communal areas within our developments to a high standard, ensuring a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment for all homeowners. You will also offer domestic support for our homeowners, such as cleaning, shopping, and managing household tasks.
• Social Support: To assist homeowners with social activities, transport arrangements, and attending appointments, enhancing their overall well-being and social connections., Travel Expenses Covered: Use your personal car for work with all travel expenses fully reimbursed and parking available on site. Mileage is paid at 43p per mile.

Location: Across Wokingham, Caversham and Twyford areas surrounding areas

Eligibility and Requirements

• Driving License: This is a field-based role, so a valid full UK driving license is required, and access to your own car along with a willingness to travel between developments.
• Skills & Experience: Ideally you will have previous experience in a care environment with a Level 2 Health and Social Care. However, this is not essential as we can provide full training for anyone looking for a career change. You must have strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to manage your time effectively. We welcome applications from people with domestic or housekeeping experience too.
• Flexibility: The ability to work on a rota basis that will include early mornings, lates and alternate weekends, and some bank holidays.
• UK-based applicants only; sponsorship is not available.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly rate: £14.50 per hour, plus an extra 30p per hour for working evening hours, and an extra £1.30 per hour for weekend hours.
• Hours: 20 hours per week on a rota basis that will include mornings, evenings and weekends.
• £300 bonus when you pass probation.
• Travel expenses covered, mileage paid at 43p per mile.
