McCarthy Stone in Killingworth and surrounding areas is seeking a passionate Care Assistant to join our mobile care team. The role combines personal care with domestic tasks, requiring travel between developments and using your own car.

You will provide compassionate support, help with daily activities and wellbeing, while earning £14.50 per hour plus 30p for evenings and £1.30 for weekends. A full UK driving licence is essential; mileage is reimbursed.

• Domestic or housekeeping experience is welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised care including help with daily activities, personal hygiene and medication assistance.

• Offer social support, transport arrangements and accompany appointments.
• Travel between developments using your own car; mileage is reimbursed and parking is provided on site.

Job description

Due to our evolving care and lifestyle delivery, we are looking for a passionate Care Assistant to join our growing care team.

Location: Killingworth & Surrounding Areas. A valid full UK driving license and use of your own vehicle is essential to be considered for this role. Travel expenses covered, mileage paid at 43p per mile.

• Hourly rate: £14.50 per hour, plus earn an EXTRA 30p per hour for working evening hours, and an EXTRA £1.30 for weekend hours.
• Hours: 30 to 35 hours per week available.
• We do not offer sponsorship.

About the Role

This is a dual role consisting of Personal Care and Domestic Services. You'll work closely with the Field Care Supervisor, House Managers and Registered Care Manager to deliver personal bespoke care and lifestyle services. This could be from assisting with personal care, household tasks to offering companionship and supporting wellbeing activities. There is the expectation to ensure communal areas are cleaned regularly too.

This is a mobile field-based role to grow our care service so there is a requirement to travel between our developments.

• Support Individual Homeowners: To provide personalised care, including help with daily activities, personal hygiene, and medication assistance.
• Domestic: Maintain communal areas within our developments to a high standard, ensuring a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment for all homeowners. You will also offer domestic support for our homeowners, such as cleaning, shopping, and managing household tasks.
• Social Support: To assist homeowners with social activities, transport arrangements, and attending appointments, enhancing their overall well‑being and social connections.
• Travel Expenses Covered: Use your personal car for work with all travel expenses fully reimbursed and parking available on site. Mileage is paid at 43p per mile.
• Uniform and mobile phone provided.

Skills & Experience

Ideally you will have previous experience in a care environment with a Level 2 Health and Social Care. However, this is not essential as we can provide full training for anyone looking for a career change. You must have strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to manage your time effectively. We welcome applications from people with domestic or housekeeping experience.

Driving Licence

This is a field-based role, so a valid full UK driving licence is required, and access to your own car along with a willingness to travel between developments.

Flexibility

The ability to work on a rota basis that will include early mornings, lates and alternate weekends, and some bank holidays.
