Job summary

Nelson Permanent Placements are recruiting for a Building Services electrical engineer to work mobile on live purpose built student accommodation around Leeds and the surrounding area. The role delivers planned preventive maintenance, reactive repairs, statutory compliance and small works, keeping electrical installations safe, compliant and fully certified.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services (or equivalent time-served apprenticeship), including AM2.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) current amendment; Inspection & testing qualification (C&G 2391, 2394/2395 or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to undergo a DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical PPM to SFG20 schedules including distribution boards and lighting.
• Diagnose and repair reactive electrical faults within contracted response times.
• Provide electrical support to other disciplines (isolations and fault-finding).
• Assist with fire alarm, door access and other low-voltage systems; deliver small works like lighting upgrades.
• Record all work in the CAFM system with asset data, readings and photos.
• Work safely with RAMS, permits to work, safe isolation and LOTO; perform risk assessments.
• Liaise with client site teams and residents to minimise disruption.
