Job summary

Amey is seeking a Mobile Building Engineer to support MoJ sites across the North West, with HMP Wymott as the main base. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance on secure sites, ensuring buildings are safe, compliant and operational.

You’ll travel between sites and work a 39-hour week, with a 1 in 4 weekend rota. This permanent, full-time position offers a company van and fuel card, funded training and progression opportunities within a long-term government contract.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• NVQ or equivalent trade qualification in a building, maintenance or FM discipline.
• Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
• Good health and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive building maintenance across multiple sites.
• Basic compliance checks and statutory maintenance tasks.
• Supporting fire safety, emergency lighting and water hygiene activities.
• Working safely within secure environments.
• Taking part in an on-call and weekend rota.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and compliance.
