Job description

Equans is seeking a Mobile BMS Engineer to join our Digital team, covering Bristol and surrounding areas on a full-time basis.

Our Digital division offers opportunities to upgrade and enhance Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure across various sectors including commercial, retail, healthcare, education, and government. These upgrades aim to make sites Smart Enabled, enabling further value addition through IoT solutions that benefit communities and the environment.

We handle projects ranging from £10k to £1.5m, supported by in-house teams and specialist partners. With aggressive growth planned for the next 3-5 years, this role is key to shaping and expanding our team sustainably.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining BMS components such as sensors, controllers, actuators, and software systems.
• Performing maintenance on Trend, Tridium, and Distech BMS systems across various sites.
• Participating in a reactive call-out rota, with additional pay for on-call attendance.
• Providing technical support and advice to clients regarding BMS systems.
• Identifying opportunities for system improvements and remedial works.
• Preparing proposals and quotes for additional works.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ.
• Extensive experience with BMS/HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of Trend, Tridium Controls/Niagara, Distech, Siemens.
• Strong understanding of electrical industry standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Understanding of IT networks.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Controls training/experience.
• Experience fault-finding in electrical panels.
• DBS and potentially BPSS vetting.
• Excellent communication skills.
