Job summary

Gymshark is hiring a Mobile Automation Engineer to join the Quality Engineering team in a hybrid Solihull role. You will own automation suites for iOS and Android, build and maintain the Appium/Java framework, and collaborate with mobile developers and QE engineers to improve release quality.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, automation strategy, and contributing to the overall testing maturity, with opportunities to explore AI-assisted tooling to speed up test creation.

Qualifications

• Experience automating native mobile apps (iOS/Android)
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining mobile automation frameworks with Appium
• Strong Java programming skills, OO design
• Familiarity with BDD frameworks (e.g. Cucumber)
• Experience running tests on BrowserStack or similar cloud devices
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI)
• Understanding mobile app architectures and testing on real devices
• Methodical, quality‑first mindset with attention to edge cases
• Good communication across engineering, QE and product functions

Responsibilities

• Add and maintain automated tests for iOS and Android apps using Java and Appium
• Run and scale automated tests across real devices using BrowserStack
• Integrate mobile automation into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid releases
• Collaborate with mobile developers and QE engineers to define test strategy and coverage
• Investigate failures and drive fixes to improve suite reliability
• Maintain and improve Appium/Java test framework and infrastructure
• Contribute to code reviews and share automation best practices
• Report test coverage and quality metrics to stakeholders
• Explore AI-assisted or agentic tooling to speed up test creation and triage
