Job summary

Tech-People is seeking an Air Conditioning Installation Improver to join our team in London and the South East. You’ll work with experienced installers on commercial projects and gain hands‑on experience across pipework, systems and commissioning.

You’ll be exposed to full installation projects and supported toward becoming a fully independent Air Conditioning Installer, with a company van, training, and clear progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous air conditioning installation experience is required.
• Experience with installation work on commercial projects is preferred.
• Valid F‑Gas certification is advantageous.
• CSCS card and a full UK driving licence are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with full air conditioning installations on commercial sites.
• Learn to install VRV, VRF, HVRF and split systems as part of the team.
• Support refrigerant pipework, condensate and pressure testing.
• Read drawings/project specs and follow installation practices.
• Develop skills toward becoming a fully independent installer.

Up to £35,000 DOE + Van + Overtime

Are you an Air Conditioning Installation Improver looking to take the next step and become a fully-fledged installer?

I’m working with a well-established and growing air conditioning specialist who is looking to add an experienced Installation Improver to their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who already has some hands‑on air conditioning installation experience and wants to develop your skills further, working alongside experienced installers on quality commercial projects across London and the South East.

You’ll get exposure to full installation projects, developing your skills across pipework, systems and commissioning while working towards becoming a fully independent Air Conditioning Installer.

The Role

As an Air Conditioning Installation Improver, you’ll be working alongside experienced installers and supporting the full installation of commercial air conditioning systems.

You’ll be involved in:

• Assisting with full air conditioning installations
• Installing and learning to install VRV, VRF, HVRF and split systems
• Assisting with refrigerant pipework and condensate
• Supporting pressure testing, evacuation and commissioning
• Working from drawings and project specifications
• Learning installation techniques from experienced engineers
• Working across commercial and construction sites throughout London and the South East
• Developing your technical knowledge with the aim of progressing into a fully‑fledged installer

What We’re Looking For

• Previous air conditioning installation experience - this is specifically an installation role
• Valid F‑Gas, ideally Level 2
• Valid CSCS card
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Must be based South of the River, ideally South London
• Some experience with air conditioning pipework and installation
• A genuine interest in developing as an installer
• Good attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn
