Job summary

Calibre Search are recruiting a Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer for Horsham, West Sussex and surrounding areas. Basic salary £40,000-£45,000 with door-to-door overtime and a company van, with earnings potential £50,000-£55,000+ OTE.

Role involves servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and installation across commercial and residential sites, with occasional visits to Central London. Monday–Friday, 40 hours, plus training and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• F-Gas qualification is essential for the role.
• Minimum five years' air conditioning engineering experience preferred.
• C&G/NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong experience with service, maintenance, fault-finding and installation.
• Good electrical knowledge and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and reactive repairs on commercial and residential air conditioning systems.
• Undertake installation work, ensuring systems are installed to required standards.
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs across a variety of equipment.
• Work on DX split systems, VRF systems and other applied air conditioning equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Travel between customer sites across Surrey, West Sussex and London; occasional travel further afield.

Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer - Horsham, West Sussex and Surrounding Areas

£40,000-£45,000 Basic Salary + Overtime | £50,000 - £55,000 + OTE

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to join an established HVAC contractor covering Horsham, West Sussex, Surrey and London. Offering a basic salary of £40,000-£45,000, plus door-to-door overtime and a company van, this role provides the opportunity to earn £50,000+ per year while enjoying a stable Monday-to-Friday working week.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years' experience in the air conditioning industry, with a strong all-round skill set covering service, maintenance, fault-finding and installation work. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking for their next long-term position within a small, supportive and knowledgeable team, where they will be valued as an individual rather than just another number.

The role offers plenty of variety, working across commercial and residential properties, including offices, high-end homes and specialist environments such as laboratories. You will work on a range of air conditioning systems from leading manufacturers, developing your skills and experience across different applications. While most work is across Surrey and West Sussex, visits to Central London are infrequent, typically around twice a month or less.

Duties:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and reactive repairs on commercial and residential air conditioning systems.
• Undertake installation work, ensuring systems are installed to the required standards and specifications.
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs across a variety of manufacturers' equipment.
• Work on DX split systems, VRF systems and other applied air conditioning equipment.
• Deliver high-quality service across a varied portfolio of customers and sites.
• Work independently when required and alongside other engineers on larger installations or projects.
• Travel between customer sites across Surrey, West Sussex and London, with occasional travel further afield when necessary.
• Maintain accurate service records, job sheets and relevant documentation.
• Communicate professionally with customers, project managers and colleagues.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety requirements and industry standards.
• Attend the company office when required to collect equipment and materials or liaise with the wider team; daily office attendance is not expected.

Qualifications

• F-Gas qualification (essential).
• Minimum of five years' air conditioning engineering experience preferred.
• C&G / NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or equivalent (preferred).
• Strong experience in air conditioning servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and installation.
• Good electrical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working on a range of commercial and residential air conditioning systems.
• PASMA and First Aid qualifications would be advantageous.
• Additional HVAC or building services experience would be beneficial.

Salary / Package

• Basic salary: £40,000-£45,000, depending on experience.
• Earning potential of £50,000 - £55,000 + per year with overtime.
• Company van, with optional private use subject to company arrangements.
• Door-to-door travel paid.
• Overtime rates apply to hours worked beyond eight hours, in line with the company's overtime arrangements.
• Overtime paid at 1.5x Monday to Saturday and 2x on Sundays.
• Monday to Friday, typically 8am-4pm, with a 40-hour working week.
• 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
