Job summary

Octric Semiconductors Ltd in the UK is seeking a Layout Engineer to provide technical layout support for ICs and reticle sets. You will ensure design compliance with mask release procedures and liaise with mask manufacturers, customers, engineers and programme managers to keep reticle development on time.

The role requires 2 years in electronics with CAD experience and proficiency with CAD tools (KLayout, Ledit, NAZCA Design).

Qualifications

• 2 years in Electronic / Electrical Engineering with CAD experience.
• Familiar with CAD Layout tools: KLayout, Ledit, NAZCA Design.
• Strong literacy and numerical skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Layout ICs and reticle sets from initial conception.
• Prepare documents for Critical IC Design and Mask Release Reviews.
• Generate Mask Order Documents.

Octric Semiconductor is a new name in the compound semiconductor foundry space. Its devices are used in mission-critical defence and commercial applications.

Provide Technical Expertise to Process and ProductEngineering Departments in the generation of IC and Mask Reticle Designs forOCTRIC's internal and external customers.

Summary Of Responsibilities

• Provide Layout Technical Support for OCTRIC's internal and external customers.
• Ensure design compliance with the requirements of internal OCTRIC's mask set release procedures.
• Laise with IC Mask Manufacturers
• Laise with Customers, Engineers and Programme Managers within the OCTRIC's Business Unit, to ensure reticle development is carried out in an efficient and timely manner to support timescales and objectives.
• Setting of and attendance of Design and Mask Release Reviews in respect to Layout Support
• Generate and maintain Records for Reticle Sets.

Main Tasks

• Layout ICs and reticle sets from initial conception.

• Generate Mask Order Documents
• Generate Reticle Design Documents.
• Maintain Mask Document and Mask Data Archive

Experience

• 2 years in Electronic / Electrical Engineering with CAD experience

Technical Skills

• Familiar with running CAD Engineering Layout Software such as KLayout, Ledit, NAZCA Design or similar.
• Very Good Literacy and Mathematical skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Applications e.g. Word, Excel

Personal Qualities

• Be able to resolve spatial layout issues logically and accurately.
• Good communication and customer interaction skills
• Needs to have capacity to establish technical and personal credibility amongst technical groups.

• HND / HNC Science / Engineering based
