Job summary

Hastings Direct is seeking an MLOps Engineer to turn pricing models and data science work into reliable production workflows. You will collaborate with Pricing, Data Science, Data Engineering and ML Engineering teams to build testable, observable pipelines in a hybrid setup across Leicester, Bexhill and London.

The role is hands-on, focusing on Python, SQL, automation, and strong engineering practices within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Strong Python skills and data/ML pipeline experience.
• Solid SQL skills with structured data.
• Experience building reusable, reliable code or pipelines.
• Knowledge of ML fundamentals and supervised learning.
• Experience with Git, code review, testing and documentation.
• Exposure to cloud-based data environments.

Responsibilities

• Build, improve and maintain ML pipelines used within Market Pricing.
• Productionise Python-based models, notebooks and data science workflows.
• Move models from development into repeatable, tested production processes.
• Improve testing, release, monitoring and maintenance.
• Investigate issues across data, model and pipeline workflows.
• Automate manual steps to improve quality, speed, or control.
• Support Git, code review, testing and documentation.
• Ensure pipelines are traceable, auditable and safe to change.
• Collaborate with Pricing, Data Science, Data Engineering, ML Engineering and governance stakeholders.
