A Chelmsford-based school is looking for a full-time Learning Support Assistant to support students aged 11–16 with Moderate Learning Difficulties. Job Title: MLD Learning Support Assistant
Are you passionate about supporting young people with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)? Do you have experience working in education or care, and are now looking to make a real difference in a specialist learning environment?
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive SEND department in a Chelmsford-based school from September. This is a full-time, term-time only role, supporting students aged 11–16 with MLD and associated needs.
Supporting students with Moderate Learning Difficulties across core subjects
Providing 1:1 or small group intervention under the guidance of the SENCO
Assisting with personal development, behaviour and emotional regulation
Encouraging independence and progress in both academic and social areas
Working closely with teachers and therapists to implement EHCP targets
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (particularly MLD)
Calm, patient and resilient with a nurturing approach
Team player with strong communication skills
Passion for inclusive education and helping students thrive
Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour strategies is advantageous
Competitive daily rates: £90–£120 per day, depending on experience
Ongoing CPD and training opportunities
A supportive school team and dedicated consultant guidance
