Job summary

Optimove, a leading marketer-centric AI platform, seeks a Machine Learning Engineer to join the Personalize team in Dundee. You will own end-to-end ML feature work from framing to deployment, focusing on text data and modern techniques including LLMs, to improve personalization across channels.

You will collaborate across ML, MLOps, and software engineering, delivering reliable APIs and monitoring models in production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or a related field, OR 1-4 years' professional ML experience.
• Strong understanding of core ML concepts and common algorithms.
• Strong Python (pandas, NumPy) and SQL skills.
• Experience with Git, Docker, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and ML pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with text data and NLP techniques.
• Solid experience with cloud technologies and data storage, including Snowflake.
• Experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude).
• Eligible to work in the UK; hybrid role in Dundee office two days per week.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery of medium-sized ML features end-to-end within Personalize with problem framing, data preparation, model build/train, evaluation, deployment and monitoring.
• Develop predictive ML models for classification, ranking and personalization using text data.
• Leverage LLMs and other state-of-the-art techniques to enhance product capabilities.
• Operationalise models as APIs across real-time and batch environments.
• Monitor production models and address data quality issues and model degradation.
• Research new ML applications and improve existing models, sharing findings with the team.
• Collaborate with product, MLOps and engineering to define new ML applications and plan grooming.
• Proactively surface and resolve technical challenges before impacting delivery.
