Job summary

Huawei Research and Development UK Limited in Ipswich seeks a software and simulation engineer with machine learning expertise to join the design team. You will work on model building, full simulation automation and optimization across devices.

Role requires a PhD and strong data analysis, Python programming and experience with simulation tools. You will collaborate with design, fabrication and test teams to drive innovation and precision.

Qualifications

• A PhD in Computing Science, Physics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Deep knowledge and implementation of machine learning with examples of collaborative working.
• Exceptional data analysis and communication abilities; report writing for clear dissemination.
• Experience in Python or similar programming languages for efficient simulation and automation.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with device design experts to understand simulation workflows and goals.
• Implement machine learning techniques to automate simulation needs.
• Own software tools, maintain control and provide a user interface for designers.
• Deliver literature reviews and progress reports on developed tools.
• Train design team members and document tool usage.
• Collaborate with Design, Fabrication, and Test to gather data and verify experiments.
• Design experiments to assess model limits and evolve physics-aware models.
