Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Mission Planning Systems Engineer for a permanent role in the Defence and Security sector in the United Kingdom. The position focuses on software and algorithms to support future anti-ship and deep-strike capabilities across air, maritime and land platforms, with a hybrid working pattern.

You will work with systems architecture, software and algorithm teams, applying Model Based Systems Engineering, and engage with stakeholders to deliver milestones while navigating

Qualifications

• Experience in systems engineering, subsystem requirements development and design.
• Understanding of mission planning, algorithms and software development processes.
• Appreciation of Model Based Systems Engineering principles and practices.
• Experience with engineering tools, configuration management and configuration control.
• Eligible to obtain UK security clearance, including British citizenship or dual nationality.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of maritime and land-based anti-ship and deep-strike mission planning products.
• Generate software and algorithm requirements as part of wider systems engineering activities.
• Collaborate with software and algorithm teams to ensure designs meet overall mission planning system needs.
• Refine system designs, requirements and architectures within a Model Based Systems Engineering environment.
• Assess opportunities to reuse development across multiple product variants.
• Work with wider mission planning teams and international partners to align engineering development with operational requirements.
• Support the link between mission planning system design and product delivery.
• Contribute to key programme milestones while engaging effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
