Job summary

Mitie Fire & Security are recruiting a Fire & Security Minor Works Engineer to join the East Midlands team. You will work on small projects from inception to completion, focusing on CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Fire Alarm Systems.

The role involves liaising with the Lead Engineer, coordinating with subcontract labour and clients, planning site visits, maintaining systems in your region, and attending training sessions to stay ahead in a dynamic security environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of Fire & Security Installation (minimum 2 years).
• Technical background in the electrical/electronic industry.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with the Lead Engineer on troublesome sites, including any critical issues.
• Work closely with subcontract labour and onsite clients.
• Maintain Fire & Security Systems in your region when demand requires.
• Ensure effective communication with customers and schedulers when planning site visits.
• Utilise customer portals as directed by the Lead Engineer in accordance with customer requirements.
• From time to time, support the Service Engineers on particular jobs.
• Plan and respond to routine and reactive call visits in your area.
• Maintain stock levels with support from the Stores team.
• Attend training sessions as required.
• Attend Engineering team meetings as required.
• Identify personal training and development needs to provide the best possible customer service.

Mitie Fire & Security are looking to grow their team with the appointment of an experienced Fire & Security Minor Works Engineer.

Our Minor Works Engineers

The positions will involve working closely with the Minor Works / Installations Team on small projects from inception through to completion on CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Fire Alarm Systems. The successful Engineer will contribute to the team and will strive to deliver world-class customer service and will be rewarded for doing so.

• Liaise with the Lead Engineer on all troublesome sites, including any critical issues.
• Work closely with subcontract labour and onsite clients.
• Maintain Fire & Security Systems in your region when demand requires.
• Ensure effective communication with customers and schedulers when planning site visits.
• Utilise all customer portals as directed by your Lead Engineer in accordance with the customer requirements.
• From time to time, you may be required to support the Service Engineers on particular jobs, and occasionally work slightly out of your designated postcode area.
• Plan and respond to routine and reactive call visits in your area.
• Maintain your stock levels with support from the Stores team.
• Attend training sessions as and when required.
• Attend Engineering team meetings as and when required.
• Identify any personal training and development needs to help you provide the best possible customer service.

• Experience of working in a similar role previously - Fire & Security Installation Experience (minimum of 2 years)
• Technical background in the electrical/electronic industry.
• Experience of front-line customer contact preferred.
• Knowledge of current industry standards and able to commission multi-disciplined systems.
• Self-motivated and able to organise workload, with the ability to work on own initiative.
• Highly organised, professional and computer literate.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
