Job summary

Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking a practical Minor Adaptations Technician to join the Community Equipment Service Team at Radstock Road Depot, Midsomer Norton. You will install minor adaptations in service users' homes to help them remain safe and independent.

The role requires hands-on handyman skills, a careful, customer-focused approach, and the ability to work with a range of health and social care professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out a range of minor adaptations in service users' homes across Bath and North East Somerset, including installations.
  • Install grab rails, second mopstick stair rails, and external Kee Klamp rails.
  • Work closely with residents, carers and professionals to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality adaptations.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, practical, and motivated Minor Adaptations Technician to join our busy Community Equipment Service Team, based at Radstock Road Depot, Midsomer Norton.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable residents by helping them remain safe, independent, and confident in their own homes.

About The Role

As a Minor Adaptations Technician, you will carry out a range of minor adaptations in service users' homes across Bath and North East Somerset, including the installation of:

  • Grab rails
  • Second mopstick stair rails
  • External Kee Klamp rails

Working directly with vulnerable residents, you will provide a professional and customer-focused service, responding to queries and ensuring adaptations are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

You will be part of a supportive and dedicated team and will work closely with healthcare professionals, social care staff, clients, carers, and family members to help deliver positive outcomes for those who use our service.
