Job summary

Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Driver/Passenger Attendant to transport service users safely to school or day care centres and back each day. The role requires flexibility for split shifts (06:45–10:30 and 13:30–18:00) during term time, with training available for D1 licence holders if needed.

The ideal candidate will have experience with children and young people, be enthusiastic, caring and committed to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people.
• Split shift availability 06:45–10:30 and 13:30–18:00.
• Must be over 21.
• D1 category licence required; B licence holders may apply with training.
• Medical exam prior to appointment.
• DBS check required before appointment.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers to school/day care centres and back.
• Collect passengers from home and return journeys.
• Assist with wheelchairs and passenger support as needed.
• Follow Council policies and promote equal opportunities and safe travel.
