Job summary

The Toynbee School is seeking a reliable driver to transport our home-to-school pupils and support extracurricular activities. You will use local knowledge, take initiative in traffic situations, and perform routine vehicle checks and refueling.

The role is term-time only, with potential for extra hours where required. Candidates must hold a clean driving licence, be over 21 with at least two years of licence history, and complete MiDAS training as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Must have a clean driving licence and be over 21 with at least 2 years' driving experience.
• MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) awareness/training will be provided if not already held.
• Ability to adapt to term-time schedules and potential additional hours.

Responsibilities

• Transport home-to-school pupils and accompany extracurricular activities.
• Perform minor vehicle maintenance and daily checks.
• Refuel the vehicle and ensure annual MOT and servicing.
• Use initiative to handle traffic situations.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable, dependable, and courteous driver to transport our home-to-school pupils and extracurricular activities. You will have a good local knowledge and be able to use your initiative to resolve any situations, such as traffic problems, that may arise during transport. As part of the role, you will be required to carry out minor maintenance and daily vehicle checks, re-fueling of the vehicle and ensuring the vehicle is serviced and has an annual MOT as required.

You must have a clean driving licence and be over 21 having held your licence for at least 2 years. If you passed your driving test after 1st January 1997, we would fund all costs for the successful candidate to obtain a D1 licence, this will include a theory and practical test plus medical examination. All successful candidates will be required to complete the MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme).

The right candidate has the flexibility. This role is term time only, but there may be an opportunity for additional hours as and when required.
