Job summary

Claires Court is seeking a reliable term-time School Minibus Driver to help pupils travel safely, comfortably and on time from Maidenhead. You will drive minibuses on allocated routes and work Monday to Friday 10am to 4:30pm.

A Category D1 entitlement or PCV license is required, along with a safe driving track record and good knowledge of the Highway Code. The role emphasizes safeguarding and a proactive, professional approach.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drive school minibuses safely along allocated routes.
• Transport pupils to and from school and activities.
• Familiarise yourself with routes, traffic patterns and diversions.
• Complete passenger registers and daily transport records.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks.
• Check fuel, oil, water, screen wash and tyres.
• Keep minibuses clean and presentable.
• Report vehicle faults promptly.
• Ensure seat belts are worn and safety procedures followed.
• Maintain a calm and orderly environment on board.
• Work with Estates Team and wider school staff.

School Minibus Driver

Location: Maidenhead, SL6

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract: Term time, approximately 36 weeks

Hours: Monday to Friday, 10am to 4:30pm

Licence Required: Category D1 entitlement or appropriate PCV licence

Experience Required: Proven safe and confident driving experience

What You’ll Be Doing

• Driving school minibuses safely along allocated routes
• Transporting pupils to and from school and school activities
• Familiarising yourself with routes, traffic patterns and any local diversions
• Completing passenger registers and daily transport records
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
• Checking fuel, oil, water, screen wash and tyres
• Keeping minibuses clean, tidy and presentable
• Reporting vehicle faults promptly
• Ensuring seat belts are worn and safety procedures are followed
• Maintaining a calm and orderly environment on board
• Reporting any significant pupil behaviour or safety concernsWorking closely with the Estates Team and wider school staff

The role requires a professional, proactive and safety conscious approach at all times.

About You

• A valid, clean UK driving licence with Category D1 entitlement, or anappropriate PCV licence
• Proven safe and confident driving experience
• Good knowledge of the UK Highway Code
• The ability to carry out basic vehicle checks

• Confidence interacting with pupils of different ages

• A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
• Experience driving larger or passenger carrying vehicles would be particularly relevant, and good knowledge of local roads would be useful.
