Job summary

Right Match Recruitment Group partnered with an international organisation in Rainham, Essex, recruiting a Mill Operative for a full-time, permanent role. You will start on 8-hour early shifts, then rotate to 12-hour Panama pattern shifts including nights and some Saturdays. Training will be provided.

Previous milling or food production experience is desirable. Good English, numeracy, and basic IT skills are required.

Qualifications

• English communication skills required, both spoken and written.
• Solid numeracy and ability to interpret data.
• Experience with automated process lines is advantageous.
• Experience in flour milling or food production is desirable.
• Food safety certificate and health & safety qualification are desirable.
• Basic IT skills and proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Handle raw materials intake, transfer, and preparation for production.
• Maintain product quality, minimise waste, and keep the plant running efficiently.
• Regularly monitor and maintain mill machinery to prevent issues.
• Collaborate with team to deliver production plan and maintain safe environment.
• Accurately record paperwork to support traceability.
• Address and solve non-engineering issues to minimise stoppages.
• Receive training across areas to increase skills and flexibility.

Job description

Right Match Recruitment Group is working in partnership with a well established and international organisation based in Rainham, Essex to recruit aforward thinking Mill Operative to join their team.This is an exciting, full-time and permanent role.

You will be working initially on 8-hours early shift, rotating on days Monday to Friday.Once the training will be completed you will be assigned on shift work, 12 hours shifts based on Panama shift pattern which will include night-shifts and currently every other Saturday.

As a Mill Operative, you will play a crucial role in the continuous development of your production area, supporting the delivery of the site plan. You will work together with your team on various production processes.

Responsibilities of the Mill Operative include:

• Handle Raw Materials Oversee the intake, transfer, and preparation of raw materials to ensure high-quality end product.
• Maintain Quality and Efficiency Ensure product quality, minimise waste, and keep the plant running efficiently.
• Monitor Machinery Regularly inspect and maintain mill machinery to prevent issues and ensure smooth operations.
• Team Collaboration Work with your team to deliver the production plan and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.
• Record Keeping Accurately record and maintain paperwork to support product traceability and quality.
• Problem Solving Address and solve non-engineering issues with machinery to minimise stoppages and improve efficiency.
• Training and Flexibility Receive training in various areas to increase skills and flexibility, covering different tasks as needed.

What do you need to be successful?

• Good spoken and written English.
• Good numeracy and interpretation of data skills.
• Food safety certificate; health & safety qualification (desirable).
• Previous SAP knowledge (desirable).
• Experience of automated process lines.
• Previous flour milling or food production experience (desirable).
• Basic IT skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Ability to work in the team and on your own.
• Open and eager to learn, training for Miller will be provided.
