Job summary

Milk Filling Operative Level 3 at Müller Manchester Dairy is a full-time role based at M17 1TU. You will operate filling equipment, monitor quality and safety, and support continuous improvement on a 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shift pattern (2 days/2 nights).

You’ll work to high hygiene standards, complete production records and training colleagues, while delivering quality dairy products for customers across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, production, food processing or FMCG environments.
• Experience operating production machinery/equipment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety, food safety, hygiene and quality standards.
• Ability to follow procedures, complete documentation accurately and maintain attention to detail.
• Experience working rotating shift patterns.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive problem solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate milk filling and processing equipment in line with SOPs, Work Instructions and site standards.
• Monitor production processes to ensure product quality, food safety, and CCP requirements.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping and environmental compliance.
• Carry out equipment checks and asset care to maximise performance and minimise downtime.
• Replenish production materials and support smooth filling and processing operations.
• Complete production records, quality documentation and system transactions accurately and on time.
• Conduct laboratory and chemical testing where required and respond to results.
• Support continuous improvement activities, problem solving and root causes investigations.
• Assist in training and development of colleagues, sharing best practice and supporting a positive team culture.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture by identifying risks and following safe working practices.

Join our fast-paced Manchester Dairy as a Milk Filling Operative Level 3, where you'll play a key role in producing high-quality dairy products while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, hygiene and operational excellence.

Contract: Full Time/Permanent

Salary: £35,023.42 per annum

Shift: 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern (2 Days/ 2 Nights), 12-hour shifts

What Will You Be Doing

As a Milk Filling Operative Level 3, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient production of high-quality dairy products, ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer requirements are consistently achieved.

• Operate milk filling and processing equipment in line with Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and site standards.
• Monitor production processes to ensure product quality, food safety and compliance with customer specifications and CCP requirements.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping and environmental compliance through a clean-as-you-go approach.
• Carry out equipment checks and asset care activities to maximise performance, minimise downtime and reduce waste.
• Replenish production materials and support the smooth running of filling and processing operations.
• Complete production records, quality documentation and system transactions accurately and on time.
• Conduct laboratory and chemical testing where required and respond appropriately to results.
• Support continuous improvement activities, problem solving and root cause investigations to improve operational performance.
• Assist in the training and development of colleagues, sharing best practice and supporting a positive team culture.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture by identifying risks, reporting issues and always following safe working practices.
