Job summary

METALtech uk Ltd is seeking a skilled mild steel fabricator/welder to set up, lay out, manufacture and install staircases, balustrades, roof access systems and structural steelworks. The role requires reading complex prints and welding to tight tolerances, with final cosmetic finishing using angle grinders and sanders.

Safety and quality compliance are essential. Candidates should have a proven fabrication and welding background, preferably with an apprenticeship or equivalent qualification, and

Qualifications

• Proven background in fabrication and welding of staircases and balustrades, preferably with an apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
• Knowledge of fabrication metals and completion to high cosmetic finish.

Responsibilities

• Square up and weld various geometries of components.
• Understand weld symbols on blueprints and fillet forms.
• Weld on vertical and horizontal planes.
• Set up techniques for welding.
• Sign off and handover paperwork per company standards.
• Meet goals and be punctual for work and meetings.
