Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking an experienced MIG Welder/Fabricator for our client’s workshop in Wakefield. You will fabricate structural and architectural steelwork from engineering drawings, mark out materials, and MIG weld mild steel to a high standard.

The role is permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday with no shifts, offering a stable workload and long-term security. You will read fabrication drawings, assemble parts, perform quality checks, and operate general fabrication equipment

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a MIG Welder / Fabricator.
• Ability to read, understand and work directly from engineering drawings.
• Experienced in marking out and fabricating components from scratch.
• Competent MIG welding mild steel.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Positive attitude and reliable work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate structural and architectural steelwork from engineering drawings.
• Mark out, measure and prepare materials accurately.
• MIG weld mild steel components to a high standard.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings independently.
• Assemble fabricated parts and complete quality checks.
• Operate general fabrication machinery and workshop equipment safely.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with production schedules and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
