Job summary

Alliance Personnel are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join one of our manufacturing clients in England. The role focuses on MIG welding, fabrication of steel components, and reading technical drawings with attention to detail to ensure quality and safety standards.

The position involves setting up equipment, inspecting welds, using hand and power tools, and collaborating with the team to meet production deadlines. Temporary to permanent contract, on-site hours.

Qualifications

• Experience operating MIG welding equipment on steel and sheet metal.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and assembly instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up welding equipment and select appropriate materials and settings.
• Perform MIG welding on various metals with strong, consistent welds.
• Prepare materials using hand and power tools (cutting, grinding, shaping).
• Interpret technical drawings accurately and follow instructions.
• Inspect welds for defects and make adjustments as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety protocols.
• Assist with fabrication tasks including cutting, fitting and assembling parts.
• Use basic math to measure and mark materials before welding.
• Collaborate with team to meet production deadlines while upholding quality.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing metal welding operations using Metal Inert Gas (MIG) techniques to assemble, repair, and fabricate steel components. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with various hand and power tools, and a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality welds that meet safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up welding equipment and select appropriate materials and settings based on project specifications
• Perform MIG welding on various metals, including steel and sheet metal, ensuring strong, consistent welds
• Use hand tools and power tools to prepare materials, including cutting, grinding, and shaping metal components
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions accurately
• Conduct quality inspections of welds for defects or inconsistencies and make necessary adjustments
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times
• Assist with fabrication tasks such as cutting, fitting, and assembling metal parts as needed
• Utilize basic math skills to measure and mark materials precisely before welding
• Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 1pm
