Job summary

Pertemps North Midlands is seeking an experienced MIG/Spot Welder to join a busy structural steelwork manufacturing team. The role involves welding and assembling steel components to engineering drawings, with focus on accuracy and quality.

Working hours are 07:00-17:00, 45 hours per week, with regular Saturday shifts. Salary progression is outlined from £14.00 to £17.00 per hour through a skills matrix, with overtime paid at a premium.

Qualifications

• Experience in MIG welding and fabrication within structural steelwork or heavy fabrication.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Versatile, reliable worker capable of maintaining quality while meeting production targets.

Responsibilities

• MIG welding structural steel components (largely mild steel).
• Spot welding and tack welding assemblies.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
