Midwife Sonographer/Obstetric Sonographer

We are seeking a motivated midwife/obstetric sonographer to join our team at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, within the obstetric ultrasound department / fetal medicine unit.

Raigmore Hospital provides comprehensive maternity, obstetric, and neonatal care to a large rural population in the Scottish Highlands, with approximately 1800 births annually.

Our team of 5 midwife sonographers performs around 11,000 scans per year, maintaining high standards through peer review and audits. We are proud to be among the top UK units for small for gestational age fetus detection.

The role involves performing obstetric examinations, including MCA PI and UAPI screening, and working independently to produce diagnostic reports. Equipment includes 7 Voluson E10 machines.

Applicants should be qualified midwives with a relevant degree and a PGC in obstetric ultrasound, with evidence of quality assurance in first trimester screening. Up-to-date practice, audit, teaching, and mentorship skills are essential.
