Midwife Clinical Educator (MSW Development)

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic midwife to join the practice development team as a Midwife Clinical Educator with a focus on supporting MSW development. This role will include mandatory and essential to role training, MCA/MSW induction programmes/apprenticeships, supporting clinical placements in line with Trust policies, procedures and national guidelines and providing access to education and training to ensure both new and existing staff maintain required skills and competencies.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience and be up to date and confident with all clinical skills. We have three wards across two sites, with a total of 88 beds for antenatal, postnatal and induction of labour.

Main duties of the job
  • Teach and facilitate learning of a wide range of staff from MCA's, MSW's, midwives and the multi-professional team in line with the Maternity Incentive Scheme, Core Competency Framework and Maternity Support Worker framework
  • Offer clinical and pastoral support to support staff and midwives
  • Organise induction programmes for a wide range of staff and liaise with the various departments within University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) essential to the planning of such programmes.
  • Support with the introduction of new equipment, pathways of care, guidance, assist with audit and lead on various projects.
  • Liaise with the professional development teams from nursing, AHP's and clinical skills.
  • When required, support the wider professional development team with facilitating essential and mandatory study days
